InBody & Metabolic Rate
What is body composition?
Represents the internal structure of the body, that is, the proportion between:
- Fat Mass – essential and storage fat
- Muscle Mass / Skeletal Muscle Mass – muscles that support mobility and metabolism
- Bone/mineral mass – the body's resistance structure
- Total Body Water – divided into intracellular and extracellular water
Why is it important?
Shows real metabolic health – two people with the same BMI can be completely different internally.
Personalize your training and nutrition – see if you are losing fat or muscle mass.
Monitor real progress – you are looking to increase muscle mass and decrease visceral fat.
Assess hydration and electrolyte balance – useful for athletes and people with conditions.

What is InBody?
InBody is a medical and fitness device body composition analysis through a technology called multifrequency electrical bioimpedance (BIA).
- It is not just an ordinary scale, but an analyzer that can measure separately muscle mass, fat, body water and segmental balances (i.e. on arms, legs, torso).
- It is used both in fitness and wellness rooms, as well as in medical clinics, nutrition, recovery and performance sports, because it provides accurate and replicable information.
InBody & Metabolic Rate
How does it work?
The principle is based on bioelectrical impedance:
- The body is composed largely of water, which conducts electricity very well.
- Muscle tissues contain a lot of water → current passes easily.
- Adipose tissue contains little water → current passes through with difficulty.
The device passes through the body very weak and completely harmless electrical currents, at different frequencies, and measure resistance (impedance).
Based on this data and advanced algorithms, the device accurately calculates:
- Fat mass
- Skeletal muscle mass
- Total body water, intracellular and extracellular
- Segmental distribution (arms, legs, trunk)
- Basal metabolic rate (BMR)
- Estimated visceral fat
FAQ's
Yes, it is completely safe and non-invasive.
It has no radiation, it doesn't hurt, and it's not dangerous for most people.
Contraindication: people with a pacemaker or electronic implants should NOT take the test.
Only 30–60 secondsThe result is printed or saved digitally immediately.
- Ideal on an empty stomach or at 3–4 hours after a meal
- Avoid strenuous exercise before the test (changes hydration level)
- Use the toilet beforehand (liquids can influence the results)
- Avoid drinking a lot of water or alcohol before the test.
- It is done barefoot and without socks
