DNA RISK

DNA RISK

What is it?

Various genetic and environmental factors contribute to the development of autoimmune disorders. One of the strongest genetic associations is related to the MHC region and its gene products, the human leukocyte antigens (HLAs). These HLAs play a critical role in the presentation of antigens (self and foreign peptides) and in the regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses.

DNA RISK

What health aspects does it cover?

The DNA Risk test covers the following areas:

  • Genetic predisposition to chronic diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes) — the test can estimate risk and suggest preventive interventions.

  • Lifestyle-related risks: how your genetics can influence how you respond to environmental factors, diet, physical activity, and how these factors can affect your long-term health.

  • Genetic variants that can trigger or worsen diseases in combination with external factors (food, toxins, sedentary lifestyle) — thus the test offers a picture of "what could be" if you don't take preventive measures.

  • Information for preventive discipline: what lifestyle changes are worth implementing to reduce your risk, based on your genetic profile.

DNA RISK

Who is it recommended for?

DNA Risk is recommended for:

  • People who have family history of serious or chronic diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer) and want to understand if they have a genetic predisposition.

  • Those who wish to adopt an approach preventively of their health, before symptoms appear, and want to personalize the prevention strategy (diet, exercise, control of risk factors).

  • People who want to optimize their lifestyle based on genetic information — if they know they have an increased risk, they can intervene more quickly.

  • Healthcare or nutrition professionals who want to provide patients with an additional tool for risk assessment and intervention planning.
